BAGS/S 27
She Left in October – S/S 27
Soft, almost white light filters through lace curtains into the house. Air enters through an open window. The scent of flowers. Warmth that lingers on the skin. Spring has arrived.
The collection explores softness, transparency and movement through different laces, their motifs, structures, densities and irregularities. Sourced in Serbia, the lace becomes the foundation, dictating its own story. Jackets, trousers, dresses, skirts and coats emerge from it, interwoven with deadstock fabrics sourced from France.
Each lace has its own character. No two are entirely alike, and for this very reason, the garments created from them cannot simply be reproduced. The uniqueness of the material becomes its value. A quiet refusal of mass production creates space for individuality. For the SILA woman, who does not seek perfection, but something that speaks her own language.
Headscarves become an extension of this story. Traditional ways of wearing them are explored through contemporary combinations. They are tied, wrapped and layered, sometimes almost concealed within the silhouette itself, at other times becoming part of the garment. No longer merely a head covering, the scarf becomes a gesture.
Alongside the lightness of lace, a stricter line of tailoring emerges, offering a contrast. Coats, trousers and skirts meet the apron, one of the most recognisable elements of traditional Balkan dress.
The S/S 27 collection exists between light and shadow, between softness and structure, between what once was and what is today.
